Vegetation response to climate and climatic extremes in northwest Bangladesh: a quantile regression approach

چکیده
The present study assessed the vegetation response to climate in water-stressed northwest Bangladesh (NWB). quantile regression analysis was employed evaluate effect of and climatic extremes on vegetation. nonparametric correlation used assess influence for various time lags. Besides, modified Mann–Kendall (MMK) test conducted understand changes anticipate change impacts Satellite estimation normalized difference index (NDVI) observed rainfall temperature data collected from five locations period 1982 ? 2018 this purpose. results revealed a negative rainfall, positive impact maximum monsoon minimum winter. Quantile significant extreme whole NWB. Overall, greater than region. trend reduction (? 2.56 mm/decade) rise (0.176 °C/decade) thus an increase (0.014 per decade). indicate vegetation, positively impacting environment water resources area.

Climate and human-driven changes play an important role in regional droughts. Northwest Yunnan Province is a key region for biodiversity conservation in China, and it has experienced severe droughts since the beginning of this century; however, the extent of the contributions from climate and human-driven changes remains unclear. We calculated the ecosystem evapotranspiration (ET) and water yie...
متن کاملTrends in Global Vegetation Activity and Climatic Drivers Indicate a Decoupled Response to Climate Change
Detailed understanding of a possible decoupling between climatic drivers of plant productivity and the response of ecosystems vegetation is required. We compared trends in six NDVI metrics (1982-2010) derived from the GIMMS3g dataset with modelled biomass productivity and assessed uncertainty in trend estimates. Annual total biomass weight (TBW) was calculated with the LINPAC model. Trends were...
متن کاملA Quantile Regression Approach to Firm Growth
This paper explores the firm growth rate distribution in a Gibrat's Law context. The aim is to provide an empirical exploration of the determinants of firm growth. The work is novel in two respects. First, rather than limiting the analysis to focus on the conditional mean growth level, we investigate the complete shape of the distribution. Second, we show that the differences in the firm growth...
